Gene Barton, CFP®
Gene Barton became interested in a career in financial services as he was completing his undergraduate degree in New York City. He realized the impact that quality advice can make during a person’s life while listening to financial podcasts and talk radio. He decided to pursue a career as a financial planner.
In his first position as an administrative assistant for an investment advisor, Gene learned the importance of client relationships as he supported multiple regional offices and moved towards a financial planning role. When Gene joined Spencer Financial, he got the chance to collaborate with the team to deliver retirement analysis to clients in all stages of their financial lives. He has passed the Series 7 and Series 66 exams to become registered as a broker and investment advisor.
Gene graduated cum laude with a degree in Economic Policy from New York University in 2019. He has also completed coursework in financial planning, risk management, investments, taxation, and estate planning through Boston University, and passed the CFP® exam in 2021, earning the full designation in 2022.
Outside of the office, you can find Gene working at his long-standing weightlifting hobby. He also recently started drawing and painting. He grew up in the Sudbury area and returns each weekend to share dinner with his parents.
